A couple of coats of wood preserve will not only help protect your fence and shed from any inclement weather, it will also more than likely improve them visually as well. PAINTING WOODWORK.

Once you have prepared the woodwork for painting (see post), seal any bare wood with a coat of wood primer. If you decide that the colour change will be very different from the original paint that is already present, as an example, painting skirting boards white that are at present green then use an undercoat, preferably one the (top coat) paint manufacturer recommends. WALLPAPERING A CEILING.

To wallpaper a ceiling you will need ideally some form of platform to work off, you should be able to work wallpapering the ceiling without the worry of whether the platform is strong enough to withstand your weight or that it won't topple over whilst you are on it. Two pairs of trestles with a rigid walk board are ideal for the task, but you can still use stepladders, preferably with an assistant using another set of stepladders to 'take the weight' of the wallpaper while you move along brushing the wallpaper flat against the ceiling.
